The mission of the Hastings Alternative High School is to provide a caring, alternative educational environment designed to meet the academic and personal growth needs of its students.

What is the Hastings Alternative High School?

The Hastings Alternative High School is an alternative opportunity for students grades 9-12 and up to age 20 to be successful in earning their high school diploma. It is a non-traditional, off-campus setting that offers classes in the daytime, as well as in the evening. Students may attend regularly scheduled “seat time” classes, independent study classes or a combination of both. Students must be at least 16 years old to be enrolled in the Independent Studies program.

What are the Hastings Alternative High School Program Components?
  • Morning, Day and Afternoon programming
  • Seat time for academic requirements
  • Independent Study for academic requirements and elective credits
  • Computer Assisted Instruction
  • Course Offerings:
    • All academic requirements/Grad Standards/Profiles in Learning
    • Academic classes through non-traditional/independent studies (ex. Health, Physical Education)
    • Electives offered at Hastings School incorporated within HAHS schedule
    • Voluntary Service Opportunities within the community
    • Counseling opportunities through HAHS staff and involvement of community services and organizations
    • Post Secondary Option Exploration and Assistance

Period 1      8:00 – 8:50 am   

Period 2      9:00 – 10:20 am  

     Connect Time    10:25 – 10:50 am

Period 3     10:55 - 12:15 pm 

Lunch        12:15 - 12:35 pm 

Period 4     12:40 – 2:25 pm

                     (No 4th hr class on Fridays - students dismissed at 12:15 pm on Fridays)

HAHS Expectations and Attendance

  • Daily attendance, by class, will be tracked as normal so please notify the HAHS at 651-480-7690 if your student is going to be absent for any reason.

Credit Recovery Update

HAHS Credit Recovery is offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning from 7:00-7:45 am.  Edgenuity is used for HAHS Credit Recovery.  Please refer to the separate HAHS Credit Recovery tab for additional information.

Tuesday, Sept 3 HAHS Orientation - Parent/Guardian & Student must attend at either
9:00 am, 1:00 pm or 6:00 pm
Wednesday, Sept 4 First Day of Class for All HAHS Students
