Parent/Teacher Conferences
The Hastings Area Learning Center will be holding conferences on Tuesday,
October 17 and Wednesday, October 18. We invite you to attend to discuss your student's progress and to answer any questions that you may have. Our conference times will be as follows for each teacher:

MEA Break
No School Wednesday, October 18 - 20
Purpose
The Hastings Area Learning Center is an alternative opportunity for students grades 9-12 and up to age 20 to be successful in earning their high school diploma. It is a non-traditional, off-campus setting that offers classes in the daytime, as well as in the evening. Students may attend regularly scheduled “seat time” classes, independent study classes or a combination of both. Students must be at least 16 years old to be enrolled in the Independent Studies program.
Program Components
- Day, afternoon and evening programming
- Seat time for academic requirements
- Independent Study for academic requirements and elective credits
- Computer Assisted Instruction
- Course Offerings:
- All academic requirements/Grad Standards/Profiles in Learning
- Academic classes through non-traditional/independent studies (ex. Health, Physical Education)
- Electives offered at Hastings School incorporated within ALC schedule
- Work Experience/On-the Job Training
- Voluntary Service Opportunities within the community
- Counseling opportunities through ALC staff and involvement of community services and organizations
